We'll be sharing space with the Illinois Republican Party, the Cook County Republican Party, the Chicago Republican Party, and the Chicago Young Republicans. I'm really happy that we were able to get all these groups together in the 43rd Ward.

Chicago GOP Slating Candidates Now

We're in the process of slating candidates for Illinois House and Senate seats in the City of Chicago. A number of the seats are open because no Republican candidates filed for the March primary.

It's important that voters have a choice this fall, a choice other than the Democratic machine's candidate.

If you, or anyone you know, is interested in running on the Republican ticket, please let me know right away. Email me at 43rdwardrepublicans (at) gmail (dot) com. The deadline is June 4, and we'll need to collect from 500 to 1000 good signatures to get you on the ballot, so the sooner, the better.

Cleveland wins re-election with 70% of the vote

Thanks, everyone for all your help. It’s nice that all the time and effort we put in paid off.

The happy side effect of this election is that all the volunteers and visibility is going to help the 43rd Ward Republicans. At this point, Republicans are a lot more visible in the ward that they otherwise would have been. There’s some buzz, interest, and enthusiasm. It’s our job to make something of it.

And we shall. Republicans will get noticed this year.

I made a campaign promise to put heroic effort into reopening a physical ward office. It’s actually not hard to open an office. The real work is in raising the money to pay for it. I promise I will make the calls and do all the necessary asking.

Let me now ask you. If you’re reading this and have some sympathy for the Republican cause in the City of Chicago, then join us. Enter your email address into this website so we can communicate with you. Come to our events. Write a check. Then write another one.

And in a few weeks, come visit the most happenin’ Republican office in the City.

This is a good year to be a Republican.

– Chris

Republicans place more election judges than the Democrats in the 43rd

In an unusual turn of events for the City of Chicago, the Republican organization in the 43rd Ward is better organized than the Democrat organization.

As of 4:00 pm on Monday, the day before the election, the 43rd Ward Republicans have all but four election judge positions filled, and several individuals had to be turned down for judge positions because they didn’t have adequate Republican credentials. Some precincts had an excess of applicants.

The 43rd Ward Democrats, by contrast, have nine open positions.

“We’ll be happy to help the Democrats out in the fall”, said Committeeman Chris Cleveland. “It’s common in the city to have Democrat judges masquerading as Republicans in some polling places. We’ll be happy to return the favor if the Democrats are short-handed again later this year.”
