Conservative named 43rd Ward Republican Committeeman

Chicago, IL — Chris Cleveland, a Chicago conservative and entrepreneur, was appointed Republican Committeeman of the 43rd Ward by Sig Vaznelis, Cook County Republican Chairman.

“We need committeemen who will stand up to the Chicago Democratic Machine, and not lay down in front of it.” said Vaznelis, “Chris is that person.”

Chris is a former congressional staffer who has run a number of Political campaigns, including Joe Birkett’s operation in the City of Chicago. In 1999, he ran against 43rd Ward Alderman Vi Daley, taking 34% of the vote. He has also served on the Republican State Central Committee.

“The 43rd Ward is one of the better wards for Republicans,” said Cleveland. “We’ve got a good chance to build a serious organization. “

“We are the 40%”, said Cleveland, noting that the 43rd routinely gives Republican candidates 40% of the vote. “With a little effort, we’ll be over 50%. 2012 may be the best Republican year in our lifetimes, and we’re going to be ready for it.”

The 43rd Ward is a lakefront ward in Lincoln Park. The boundaries are roughly from North Avenue north to Diversey, and from the lakefront west to Sheffield Avenue. It also includes parts of the Gold Coast.

Chris is a graduate of Princeton and the University of Chicago. He is currently CEO of Dieselpoint, Inc., a software company.
